Electioneering in full swing for 1st phase of LG polls

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP): Electioneering is in full swing for
the first phase of Local Government (LG) elections in Punjab and
Sindh provinces scheduled to be held on Oct 31.
Election is being held in the 1st phase in 12 districts
of Punjab and eight districts of Sindh, a news channel reported.
The candidates vying for the seats of Chairman, Vice-Chairman
and Councillor are going door to door and holding corner meetings
to garner public support.
The districts in Punjab that go to the polls in the first
phase are Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Nankana
Sahib, Kasur, Pakpattan, Okara, Lodhran, Vehari and Bahawalnagar.
The districts in Sindh where the polls are being held are
Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore
and Qamber.
PPP is expected to have a close contest with 10-party
alliance in the province.
The polling in all districts will be conducted the same day on Saturday.
