Punjab mandates ‘Hotel Eye’ registration for guest houses

LAHORE, May 21 (APP):The Punjab government has made registration of all guest houses with the ‘Hotel Eye’ software mandatory to combat terrorism, crime and illegal activities.
This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of a Safe Punjab. According to the Punjab Home Department, all private guest houses across the province must now enter the data of their guests—both local and foreign—into the Hotel Eye system. The digital verification of residents is expected to aid significantly in crime prevention and enforcement efforts.
To streamline the process, the Home Department has launched an online portal for the registration of all guest houses and residential service providers. Guest house owners are required to register at http://hoteleye.punjab.gov.pk and log in to submit guest information and the deadline for registration is June 15, 2025.
Moreover, individuals booking accommodations through international and local online booking platforms will also need to be registered in the Hotel Eye system.
Guest houses that fail to comply with this directive will face legal action under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Act 2015.
Previously, only registered hotels in Punjab were linked with the Hotel Eye software. However, the increasing number of both domestic and international visitors staying at private guest houses necessitated this broader security measure.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department stated that the digital verification system will play a crucial role in tightening the net around criminal elements and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors alike.
