ANF arrests 6 smugglers with over 2294 kg of drugs worth Rs 434.4 mln

RAWALPINDI, May 21 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducting nine operations across the country, recovered as many as 2294.81 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 434.4 million and arrested six suspects, including a woman, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Wednesday.
He informed that 4.5 kg of ice was recovered from the luggage of a passenger visiting Doha at Islamabad International Airport.
In another operation,40 grams of MDMA powder were recovered from a parcel sent from Holland at a courier office in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi.
Similarly,470 grams of ice was recovered from two parcels sent to Australia at a courier office in Harbanspura, Lahore.
As much as 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of an accused near Gojra Bus Station Toba Tek Singh.
On a tip-off, two suspects, including a woman riding a rickshaw, were arrested near Chan Da Qila, Gujranwala and 2.4 kg of opium and 15 kg of hashish were recovered on the information of the arrested accused during a search of the house located in Wapda Town, Gujranwala.
 As many as 300 kg of opium hidden for smuggling were recovered near Hazarganji, Quetta.
During another operation,1970 kg of opium hidden for smuggling was recovered in Koh Sultan, an uninhabited area of Chagai district.
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigations are underway.
