ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) hosted a vibrant series of Open Houses across three of its premier institutions, offering a dynamic platform for final-year students to exhibit groundbreaking projects and forge stronger ties with industry stakeholders.
The institutions included the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (SCEE), the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS), and the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (SMME).
The events served as a testament to NUST’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and real-world impact, highlighting the university’s role in shaping future-ready professionals and solutions.
At SCEE’s Open House and Job Fair, students from Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and GIS programmes presented 54 final-year design projects. The event attracted representatives from over 60 leading organisations, including FWO, NDMA, NESPAK, WAPDA, GIZ, and Halcrow Pakistan Ltd., offering students valuable opportunities for industry interaction and recruitment.
SEECS impressed attendees with an array of innovative projects spanning Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, FinTech, and Sustainable Technologies. Visitors engaged with student teams, toured cutting-edge laboratories, and explored how academic research is being translated into impactful, real-world tech solutions.
Meanwhile, SMME’s Open House brought together over 120 final-year students who showcased more than 35 multidisciplinary engineering projects. The event emphasized hands-on learning and collaborative design, drawing participation from industry professionals and academia alike.
The NUST Open Houses not only celebrated the ingenuity and dedication of graduating students but also reinforced the university’s outcome-based educational model and its growing synergy with industry leaders.
