ITP launches 11th ‘Friends of Police’ batch

ISLAMABAD, May 08 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP)  formally launched the 11th batch of its ‘Friends of Police’ internship program, with 30 students from Iqra University joining the initiative aimed at educating youth about traffic laws, road safety, and policing procedures
An official told APP on Thursday that  a total of 30 students from Iqra University have joined the internship program and visited the ITP Headquarters on the first day, under the special directions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider.
He said the students were briefed on the department’s working procedures and toured various sections including the licensing branch, central control room, education unit, and other key departments.
He said the ITP education wing also explained the digital licensing process, the modern traffic management system, and the automated mechanism for issuing fines.
He said the students appreciated the department’s technological advancements, transparency, and public facilitation initiatives, and pledged to support the ITP in law enforcement, awareness drives, and road safety promotion.
He said the program will continue in phases, with students also visiting other Islamabad Police divisions including security, crime investigation, and community policing to gain a broader understanding of policing operations.
He said this initiative is part of ITP’s efforts to involve the younger generation in responsible civic behavior and foster stronger community-police relations.
