LAHORE, May 05 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz
Sharif on Saturday inaugurated two-way Hasilpur-Bahawalpur road.
According to a handout issued by DGPR here, the 77-kilometre
road has been completed in a very short time at the cost of 4.5
billion rupees and this road will provide best travelling facilities
to the people of remote areas.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Shehbaz Sharif said the
people of South Punjab have been provided best infrastructure due
to which farmers will be able to transport their crops to the markets
in time. He said the two-way road is a mini motorway and if we got
another chance to form government, we will extend this road from
Hasalpur to Bhawalnagar.
The chief minister directed the RPO Bahawalpur to take measures
to control road accidents and deploy police officials on this road.
He said the Punjab government had set up network of roads, bridges
and overhead bridges. If the people gave another chance to form
government, then this journey of development will be moved forward
at faster pace.
A medical university and technical university in Bhagalpur will
be set up if got chance to form government. He said federal minister
Riaz Pirzada was standing with Nawaz Sharif since 1985 and we have
a relationship of honour and respect, and this relationship will
continue in the future. He said he had inspected the whole road from
the helicopter and this is an excellent road and we can call it a
mini motorway.
This road will bring about economic revolution in the area. For
the construction of this road, additional chief secretary communications and other officers deserve praise for their excellent work. This road
will benefit the people living in Yazman, Kherpur Tamiwali and other
areas. He said after winning 2013 general elections he had come in Bahawalpur and had promise to install 400 megawatt solar power plant in Cholistan and this promise has been materialized and people are getting jobs due to this project.
He said India had made green the area of Cholistan which falls in
its jurisdiction as fruit and vegetables are grown there. He said this
is my dream to make our area of Cholistan green and for this purpose a
huge water reservoir from Sindh River will be constructed and this will help irrigate thousands of acres of land.
The CM said Cholistan will be made green that if we are voted to
power and measures will be taken in this regard.
Federal minister Riaz Pirzada and MPAs Muhammad Kazim Ali Pirzada
and Muhammad Afzal Gill also addressed the ceremony.
