CM Punjab inaugurates academic block of Khwaja Fareed University RYK

RAHIM YAR KHAN, May 05 (APP):Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif Saturday formally inaugurated the academic block of the Khwaja Fareed Engineering and Information Technology University in Rahim Yar Khan.
He visited various departments of the university and inspected its libraries and labs. The vice chancellor of the university gave a briefing to the chief minister on the educational activities of the university. Talking to the students, the chief minister said the state-of-the-art university is a gift for the people of South Punjab and PML-N government has established this University to ensure bright future of the youth of the region.
Khwaja Fareed Engineering and Information Technology University is not a favour for the youth of South Punjab but it is their right.
He said this is the age of engineering and information technology and the Punjab government has established this university to make the youth of this region empowered.
“I am pleased to see that girl and boy students of Danish schools are getting education in this university,”he added.
Other departments besides engineering have also been set up in this university and students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are also getting education here. With your good wishes the university will become a source of salvation for us. Students from poor families and orphans are getting higher education in this university.
Had Danish School and this university not been set up, these students would have been facing hardship. Now these students will take part in development and progress of the country after getting modern education here.
The chief minister said, “You are the guarantee of the bright future of Pakistan and you will make the country great and greater. It’s our job to provide the best resources and we will continue doing this job’’. Talking to faculty members of the university, CM Shehbaz Sharif sad highly qualified staff is present in this university and 70 of them are PhDs. This is 13 billion rupees projects out of which 4 billion rupees have been spent while remaining amount will be earmarked in the next financial year.
The Chief Minister directed the provincial minister for higher education and secretary higher education to install air conditioners in the auditorium and laboratories of the university.
While speaking at a ceremony held in the university, the chief minister said Rahimyar Khan is an important city of South Punjab and this city is situated on the boundary of Punjab and Sindh and for this reason of the university has been set up here.
I congratulate all on the inauguration of first phase of this university and this university will be among ranking university of Pakistan soon. This is not the university of Rahimyar Khan but the university of all of Pakistan and students from North Waziristan , Balochistan, KPK, Singh and other areas are also getting education here. This university proves that South Punjab is set to surpass Central Punjab in terms of development.
He said the PML-N government has taken revolutionary steps for the development of South Punjab for the last 10 years and 36 per cent of the resources have been provided for the 31 per cent population of the province while for the last two years 45 per cent funds have been provided for the development of this area.
In laptop scheme, self-employment scheme and other welfare schemes, South Punjab share has been given 10 per cent more share.
Lodhran to Sahiwal Road, costing 27 billion rupees, is in the final stage of completion. Work on Muzaffargarh-DG Khan Road is continuing at the fast pace at the cost of 14 billion rupees. The Turkish government established Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital in DG Khan.
The Punjab government had announced to upgrade it from 100 beds to 500 beds. The first phase of 250 beds has been completed and the work is continuing on the second phase. Girl students of South Punjab enrolled in the sixth grade were provided 200 rupees as the scholarship, while we have enhanced this scholarship to 1000 rupees and this is not a favour to the girl students but their right.
The Chief Minister said those raising slogans of South Punjab are doing sloganeering only and their forefathers had done nothing for this area during their governments and they left this area as deserts. We have taken practical measures for the development of this area. The bring development and progress to Cholistan by installing Solar Power Plant. A Cadet College is being established at Kanpur. The chief minister said we have worked day and night to rid the country of darkness of loadshedding and we have installed power projects of thousands of megawatts. The credit for CPEC goes to Nawaz Sharif. The chief minister said those who don’t work and those who loot national resources have joined hands. In the forthcoming general election the people should vote those who spent national resources on the development of the people. If we are voted to power again then we will set up 12 new universities in the whole province. He said when he talks about KPK, Niazi sahib is distressed and now he says Shehbaz Sharif is more dangerous than Nawaz Sharif and now he has realized that Nawaz Sharif is an innocent person while Shiva Sharif is a real danger. Niazi sahib I am danger because I set up universities for the students of this country and established institutions of education and health. I construct roads, bridges and infrastructure for the facility of the people. And I will continue doing this work.
Praising the Vice Chancellor and his team for establishing the university, the chief minister said that time is not very far away when this university will be of the standard of Cambridge and Oxford universities as there is no shortage of funds and we will provide all-out resources for this university. He said directed the authorities to complete the installation of air conditioners of the university in one years and also set up 20-bed hospital here. He announced six buses for the university and said that the construction of hostels for girl and boy students should be completed in one year and sports activities will also start here soon. We will provide resources up to 15 to 20 billion rupees to make it an international standard university.
