ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP):A delegation of All Parties Hurryiat Council (APHC) held a meeting with Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan on Friday here at the ministry.
The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Ms Romina Khursheed Alam, Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education Punjab Ms Mehwish Azmat Hayat, besides APHC representatives, including Syed Ijaz Safi, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghir and others, a press release said.
Talking to the delegation, Mushhaidullah said the Kashmir cause was also related to climate change. The presence of 700,000 Indian army personnel was negatively impacting environment of the area. By using fossil fuels and weapons, they were deteriorating the environment, he added.
He said he had been following the Kashmir issue since his childhood .The meeting in Muzafafrabad on the Kashmir issue held was on his advice, he added.
He said the government of Nawaz Sharif brought back the Kashmir cause on the top agenda of government. This issue caught the world attention after the sacrifice of Burhan Wani. The present government highlighted the issue through international forums and diplomatic communities. India claimed to be a democratic country but it denied the Kashmiris right of holding protests, he added.
He said ideology always won in physical wars. “Our government, ministry and people of Pakistan fully support the Kashmir cause,” he added.
Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam said they held an international conference to highlight the Kashmir problem and show solidarity with the Kashmiris.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi, convener of APHC Azad Jammu and Kashmir, said the Kashmir issue was a human right issue and climate change issue as well. “The Siachin glaciers are located in that area and the brutalities of Indian forces are negatively impacting glaciers as well”.
The Hinduata government in occupied Kashmir, he said, started steps to convert majority into minority. The Muslim population had started immigration from the area where Asifa was raped and murdered.
He said in the held Kashmir, all APHC leaders were fighting for freedom. The college and university students holding Pakistani flag were on roads to fight for their freedom, he added.
He demanded to keep Kashmir on top of the parties’ manifestoes for next election.
