PESHAWAR, Apr 18 (APP):Swat police have apprehended a couple involved in a series of frauds and scams conducted through Easypaisa transactions.
The suspects allegedly used modern techniques to deceive citizens at various locations, including petrol pumps and mega marts.
The arrest followed a complaint filed three days ago at Khwazakhela Police Station. The complainant reported that a young couple arrived at a petrol pump in Gashkori in a white car, refueled their vehicle, and made payment via Easypaisa. However, the transaction was later reversed, causing a financial loss to the business.
Acting swiftly, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Using CCTV footage and advanced investigative tools, authorities identified and arrested the suspects, who were residents of Abbottabad and Mansehra.
Police revealed that the couple had been involved in similar fraudulent activities at multiple commercial centers and mega marts. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities suspecting more individuals may be connected to the scam.
