ISLAMABAD, Apr 11 (APP):The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Wednesday summoned the secretary housing and chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) in next meeting to get vacated government land from land grabbers and directed Inspector General Police for strict action against such elements.
The committee met here under the Chairmanship of Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah at Parliament House.
Discussing the audit objections of Karachi Port Trust, the committee member Arif Alvi said on the direction of Chairman PAC a visit was conducted to the Federal Government Officers Housing Society but no cooperation was extended from the ministry of housing.
According to information, he said initial map was passed on May 2012 but now they were changing the map to create more plots on the land of graveyard which was against the law.
Arif Alavi said further creation of plots indicated corruption and it was the time to stop such an action before a corruption scandal comes before the nation.
Additional Managing Director Housing Foundation said the project was started in 2012 and assured the committee that project would be completed till December 2018.
