ISLAMABAD, Apr 09 (APP):Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar Monday called Balochistan Chief Secretary and Secretary Health in his chambers at the Supreme Court Registry Quetta on April 10 (Tuesday) in connection with the medical issues being faced by the residents of the provincial capital.
The CJP summoned both the officials when he visited Civil Hospital, Quetta and met young doctors and paramedics, who were on strike, said an SC press release issued here.
The chief justice asked the striking doctors and staff to come to his chambers to apprise him of their problems, if any, as the strikes added miseries to the patients visiting the hospital.
On this, they discontinued the strike and called on the CJP at his chambers and informed him that they had not been paid salaries for the last six months. The Civil Hospital being a tertiary care hospital lacked basic facilities and equipment to cater the needs of poor patients, they said, adding that none of the hospitals in Quetta had the facility of MRI.
After hearing their problems in detail, the CJP summoned the two high officials Tuesday.
