Miftah urges provinces to cooperate to enhance recoveries

ISLAMABAD, Mar 30 (APP):Adviser to the prime minister on Finance Miftah Ismail Friday urged all provinces to cooperate with the federal government to enhance recoveries of electricity.
Talking to a private news channel, he said performance of some DISCOs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, interior Sindh and Quetta in Balochistan was poor due to which government had to bear losses.
He said there was no load-shedding even of one kilowatt in the country due to circular debt.
The government had made payments of Rs 50 billions to IPPs, WAPDA and gas companies while more than Rs.100 billions would be paid to other companies in next month which would ensure smooth supply of electricity during the summer, he said.
