ISLAMABAD, March 18 (APP):Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair Sunday said peace in Karachi had restored due to the policies of federal government, which had launched an operation against criminals and terrorists after consultation with all the political parties.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the law and order situation in the mega city was much better as compared to the past as international investors were taking keen interest to invest in the economic hub of the country.
The governor said the federal government was not responsible to dispose of the garbage of the city, rather it was the task of local government representatives.
He said the country’s development linked with the restoration of economic activities in the Sindh metropolitan city. The mass transit project launched in collaboration with the federal government would provide comfortable transport facility to the people of Karachi, he added.
Replying to a question, he said the objective of holding social, culture and sports activities in Karachi was aimed at conveying the soft image of the country abroad.
He said the people of Sindh also wanted development in the province like Punjab. For the purpose they would have vote for representatives who would work for their welfare, he added.
Zubair said those who were criticising Punjab government for its Metro Bus service projects, had now themselves started the projects in their respective provinces.
