DC review performance of Immunization, District Surveillance, Lady Health Workers Program

HYDERABAD, Jan 15 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Shehryar Gul Memon on Wednesday directed the Health Department to focus on ongoing health programs, particularly those aimed at improving maternal and child health.
He emphasized the need to revitalize these initiatives, ensuring better health facilities for the district’s residents.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held at DC Office to review the monthly performance of Immunization, District Surveillance and Lady Health Workers Program.
The DC while instructed the Immunization Officer and other officers of the Health Department, said that immunization is of utmost importance to protect children from various diseases, and for that reason the ongoing immunization program in the district should be made more active so that newborn children, refusals and children with incompleted immunization course could be vaccinated in time.
The deputy commissioner has directed the district surveillance officer to pay special attention to surveillance work, aiming to achieve better results in immunization and polio eradication campaigns.
The DC instructed in-charge of the Lady Health Workers Program to make it more active.
Briefing the meeting, health department officers apprised the deputy commissioner about the ongoing work of immunization, surveillance and Lady Health Workers Program in the district.
On this occasion, DC Shehryar Gul Memon distributed certificates of appreciation to the teams that performed best in the immunization program.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Asadullah Dahri, Focal Person for Polio Dr. Allah Bakhsh Rajpar, Divisional Coordinator WHO Dr. Jhangir Korai and other concerned officers.
