PESHAWAR, Jan 15 (APP):Special Assistant to KP CM Industries, Abdul Karim Tordher, along with Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s Standing Committee on Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, and other members visited the site of provincial government’s new mega project, Industrial Park Peshawar on Wednesday.
Managing Director (MD) Small Industries Development Board (SIDB), Habibullah Arif, Deputy Managing Directors Noman Fayaz and Engineer Sahibzada Zulfiqar, along with officials from the Provincial Assembly, Law and other relevant departments and the board were also present on the occasion.
The Special Assistant and committee members reviewed various sections of the new project under its master plan and Deputy MD Sahibzada Zulfiqar gave them a detailed briefing about the project’s layout and the measures being taken to facilitate industrialists.
He explained that the project spans 941 kanal, with 800 kanal allocated for industrial plots and the remaining land for commercial purposes.
He further shared that the master plan for of project has been designed with future planning, including provisions for parking, commercial markets and clubs, health facilities and showrooms for the exhibition of industrial products.
The total cost of the project is 3.21 billion rupees and it has been divided into two packages for completion at the earliest.
The project will feature a total of 393 industrial plots, with a space designated under the “Plug and Play” policy. The payment of industrial plots will be received in four instalments under this project.
On this occasion, the Special Assistant remarked that this project will serve as a significant milestone for industrial development in the Peshawar Valley. It will not only provide social development facilities at the local level but will also create direct and indirect employment opportunities for the people.
He emphasized that the industries set up in this park will help local people acquire skills and efforts will also be made to provide job training.
He directed that steps should taken to acquire additional land for connecting this project to Frontier Road.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Committee called SIDB’s project an important milestone and suggested that this master plan be adopted for future small industrial estates as well.
He assured that the committee would extend its full cooperation through various forums to ensure the project’s timely completion.
