PESHAWAR, Jan 15 (APP):Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, on Wednesday announced the regularization of Tourism Police personnel.
In a significant move, the monthly salaries of Tourism Police officials have also been increased from PKR 36,000 to PKR 45,000, following approval in a board meeting.
An official release issued here said that in order to further strengthen the Tourism Police, the government has decided to equip them with heavy bikes and advanced communication gadgets.
Additionally, the CM directed the tourism department to identify and develop more tourist destinations. He emphasized the inclusion of at least four new tourism projects in the budget for the next fiscal year.
Highlighting the growing popularity of the province among tourists, Ali Amin Gandapur stated that 15 million domestic and international tourists visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last season.
He stressed the need to explore and develop new tourist spots to accommodate the rising influx.
As part of the initiatives, the CM instructed necessary amendments to the master plan for the Thandiani Integrated Tourism Zone and its subsequent advertisement.
He also directed the simultaneous construction of access roads to Integrated Tourism Zones to ensure seamless travel and comprehensive tourism development.
Ali Amin Gandapur reiterated that tourism is a priority sector with vast potential for employment and investment in the province.
