DIG Raza leads recovery of over 20mln cash, goods, returning to owners

ISLAMABAD, Jan 10 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have successfully returned stolen items worth over Rs 20 million, including vehicles, motorcycles, cash, jewelry, and other valuables, to their rightful owners.
The recovered items were handed over during a ceremony at the Police Lines Headquarters on Friday.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG)  Police, Syed Ali Raza, while addressing a press conference, shared details of a three-month crackdown against criminal elements.
DIG Raza said that the operation led to the recovery of 37 vehicles, 159 motorcycles, Rs 22.9 million in cash, jewelry worth over Rs 1.6 million, and 91 mobile phones. A significant quantity of narcotics and firearms with ammunition was also seized.
During the ceremony, DIG Raza, accompanied by SSP Operations/Investigation Arsalan Shahzeb, zonal SPs, and SHOs, handed over the recovered vehicles, motorcycles, jewelry, and other stolen items to their rightful owners.
The event was attended by citizens who expressed their gratitude and praised the police’s efforts.
Islamabad resident Faisal Satti expressed his happiness to APP, saying that the return of his Rs10 lakh was an astonishing act, and that Islamabad Police returned his money with respect.
Similarly, another Islamabad resident, Muhammad Yousuf, whose house was burgled and suffered a loss of Rs2.7 million, had the full amount returned.
Yousuf said that this might be a historic moment in Islamabad’s history, as such a large sum of Rs2.7 million was returned, and he salutes DIG Ali Raza and Islamabad Police for this remarkable act
DIG Raza highlighted that under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, actions against habitual offenders and fugitives are being intensified. He added, “We are committed to making Islamabad crime-free by 2025 through rigorous policing and meticulous investigations.”
