CM announces provision of one window operation facilities to investors

QUETTA, Dec 04 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday announced the provision of one-window operation facilities for the convenience of investors.
He also assured that the business community investing in Balochistan would not face any difficulties from the bureaucracy, Balochistan is a land of opportunities which is a suitable area of the country in terms of investment.
We will provide them with help and support wherever the business community asks for it, the provincial government will ensure the provision of a conducive environment for investment, he said.
He expressed these views while addressing the Balochistan Business and Investment Conference at the Karachi Federation Chamber.
The Chief Minister said, there is no doubt that Balochistan has lagged behind in the race for economic and social development and it could be brought forward only through the business community.
He said that for this, the provincial government would promote investment and provide incentives and facilities to investors saying that the development budget of the province is only Rs 210 billion, which is insufficient.
The CM noted that security problems have definitely increased in Balochistan, due to which businessmen are afraid to invest in Balochistan but the provincial government would provide complete protection to investors and could also give the same security to national investors as it is giving to international investors.
“5,000 acres of land have been requested by the business community and investors. In order to facilitate them, we are prepared to offer 10,000 acres of property”, he said adding that along with this, the provincial government would also provide one-window operation facility for businessmen.
He said that we are ready to work on public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti assured that no investor investing in Balochistan would be a victim of the problems created by bureaucracy.
He said that the second biggest problem of Balochistan is energy crisis, the provincial government would welcome all investors and the business community to invest in the energy sector.
The CM complained that investors set up industries in the Hub and their taxes are paid elsewhere instead of Balochistan.
He said that we would protect investors here, protection is being provided to big foreign companies working in Balochistan adding that we have to move forward under public-private partnership.
Sarfraz Bugti suggested that the discussion of district economy by the Federation, it would be better to move forward through forming a joint team of experts.
He said that the provincial government is taking significant steps for the development and advancement of Balochistan.
He emphasized that the joint efforts of all of us would not only increase investment in Balochistan, but all such measures could also lead to the overall growth and self-sufficiency of the province.
While announcing the establishment of Balochistan Bank for the convenience of investors, he said that when he took oath, President Asif Ali Zardari had first requested regarding setting up of Balochistan Bank, and soon we will hear a good news in this regard.
