QUETTA, Nov 25 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandukhail said that all the higher educational institutions of the province are trying to equip our new generation with jewels and advance quality education.
He said that in this long time, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad has been the driving force behind our achievements.
He expressed these views while talking to Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtair Ahmed at Governor House Quetta.
Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan Hashim Khan Ghilzai was also present in the meeting.
On the occasion, the Governor said that although the responsibilities of the provinces have increased after the eighteenth amendment, it is still impossible to increase without the financial and technical support and guidance of the HEC.
We need the continuous support and guidance of HEC to overcome the complex financial and administrative problems being faced by our public sector universities, he said.
He said that in view of the modern requirements of the present age, we have to focus on teaching modern skills along with education, for this, technical and technical institutes across the province need to start functional and IT courses.
The Governor said that it is certain that we have to take some bold decisions along with generating new sources of income to take the public sector universities on the path of self-sufficiency.
If both the federal and provincial governments do not increase the budget allocated for higher education in time, then the government universities in the province may face many difficulties, the Governor said.
