Haj balloting to be done soon after court decision: Sardar Yousaf

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (APP):Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf
here on Thursday said balloting for Hajj will be conducted as soon as the court
announces its decision about quota for government and private Hajj organizers.
Talking to mediamen here after an event, he said the Saudi government
increased the quota for 5000 more Hujjaj of Pakistan.
The banks have received over 375,000 applications for the government Hajj scheme
while 120,000 pilgrims would be sent to Saudi Arabia under this scheme, he added.
He said after 2012, no company has been registered for allocation of private Haj
quota.
He said the government would follow the laid down policy to give maximum
facilities to the pilgrims.
Best transportation and residential facilities would be ensured for the Hujjaj this year.
He said Pakistani Hujjaj were satisfied with the arrangements made by the government
therefore a record number of people applied for the Haj under the government scheme.
A quota of 65,000 Hujjaj would be given to the private sector which will
make arrangements for the intending pilgrims according to their quota.
