PSQCA seals illegal, fake cosmetics factory, 8 water brands

LAHORE, Feb 14 (APP):On directions of Federal Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain, Pakistan
Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) sealed a fake and illegal cosmetics factory here in the provincial capital on Wednesday.
The authority also sealed another eight illegal brands of bottled drinking water, discarding huge quantity of prepared water bottles in the provincial capital.
According to PSQCA officials, Director General Khalid Siddiq ordered the task force for taking strict action against illegal brands.
To which, the special task force led by Deputy Director Rizwan Ali raided different areas in the city, including Model Town, Samnabad, Bahar Colony, Thokar Niaz Baig, Kot Lakhpat, and founds illegal water brands and a cosmetics factory working without the PSQCA licence.
The cosmetics unit was working in a house and fake packing of some multinational companies was being used for shampoo, hair colour and beauty creams.
The task force also took huge quantity of prepared stock of packing, material and prepared cosmetics.
The task force also sealed Crystal Care, Aqua Shilling, Crystal, Aqua String, Faizi Water and Delite Water Brands and discarded huge quantity of prepared bottled drinking water on the spot.
The DG PSQCA ordered the task force to continue the action against illegal brands of water and cosmetics and said that strict action would be taken against companies involved in preparing substandard and illegal food items illegally.
He said that special teams had been formed to check illegal brands which would visit different markets and collect samples from open market.
He said that on directions of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, no illegal brand would be permitted to continue business.
