National good governance, sports leaderships course commences

LAHORE, Feb 01 (APP):The 2nd National Good Governance & Sports Leadership Course started here on Thursday with 30 participants attending it.
The three-day beneficial activity is being organised by the Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) in collaboration with Pakistan Olympic Association.
Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, Vice President Pakistan Olympic
Association/ Chairman Pakistan Volleyball Federation inaugurated
the event. Ahmed Ali Rajput, Secretary Sindh Olympic Association
and Muhammad Jahangir, Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation were the guests of honours.
Mian Muhammad Rafiq, Director Coordination, POA/ National Course Director delivered a lecture on ‘Highest level of competence, integrity and ethical standards’ whereas Prof Painda A Malik, Vice President Pakistan Gymnastics Federation/ National Course Director delivered a lecture on ‘Solidarity and Development’. Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob also delivered a lecture on ‘Harmonious relations with government while preserving autonomy’.
Khawaja Idris Haider, Secretary, Punjab Olympic Association in his address of welcome expressed his deep gratitude to Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan, President POA for providing this opportunity to the office-bearers of Provincial Sports Associations of Punjab and Executive Committee Member of Punjab Olympic Association for attending the course.
The course has been introduced in line with IOC, Olympic Agenda 2020 recommendations for Basic Universal Principles of Good Governance of the Olympic and Sports Movement. It is an effort to comply with the directions of IOC to promote Olympic and Sports Movement through Good Governance at all levels.
