Pak Embassy organises series of functions to celebrate 70th anniversary of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP):Pakistan Embassy in Oman celebrated 70th anniversary of Pakistan by organizing extensive six week long series of functions with special community bases outreach initiatives.
According to a message received here on Thursday, the events had received generous coverage in English and Arabic dailies as well on the virtual news outlets of Oman.
Women, children and Omani civil society as well as government of Oman had evinced keen interest in the celebrations.
The launch of ‘Young Pakistan Oman’ an online platform for the youths (www.ypfo.pk) and first edition of Oman Pakistan Friendship Cup, a 5 match bilateral Hockey series with over- whelming support from Pakistan community as well as national institutions from both countries added further color and substance to the celebrations.
Likewise, final match of the Cup was broadcast live on Oman TV which is unprecedented as being previously reserved for His Majesty’s Cup Final only.
Further substance was added to the 70th anniversary of independence with recording a live interview with ‘Times TV’ on the morning of August 14th. It set records for most watched live interview with any personality until today both while being streamed live and also in terms of total views that crossed 40,000 in 48 hours.
In coordination with Pakistan Navy, for two consecutive years an on board Diplomatic Receptions to mark August 14 had been held in Salalah (1100 km from Muscat) with participation of Omani government, diplomatic corp and civil society.
Similarly, to maintain impetus and ensuring full spectrum celebrations, defence day was also marked in diplomatic reception at Pak House in partnership with a Pakistani community member.
