ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):Three-day Investor Weekend 2024 event, organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Central Depository Company (CDC), in collaboration with leading Asset Management Companies (AMCs) and brokerage houses, is set to kick off on Friday.
The event is part of CDC’s special initiative to mark World Investor Week 2024, a global campaign by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) aimed at promoting investor education and protection, according to a news release.
The inauguration will be led by SECP Commissioners Abdul Rehman Warraich and Mujtaba Ahmad Lodhi, along with CDC Chairman Farrukh H. Sabzwari, CDC CEO Badiuddin Akber, and representatives from top asset management companies, brokerage firms, and other financial institutions.
Investor Weekend 2024 will showcase the role of Pakistan’s capital markets, led by the CDC and SECP, alongside prominent AMCs and brokerage houses. These organizations will share expert insights and experiences with the public, helping them make informed and secure investment decisions, thereby fostering a strong investment culture in Pakistan.
Participating organizations include ABL Funds, AKD Securities, Al-Habib Funds, Al-Meezan Investment Management Limited, Atlas Asset Management, Faysal Funds, HBL Asset Management Limited, MCB Funds, Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), Trust Securities and Brokerage Limited, UBL Funds, and WE Financials.
CDC has extended an open invitation to the public to attend this three-day event, which offers valuable information on various investment opportunities and guidance on how to engage in the financial markets through smart and informed investment strategies.
