Pak festival in Beijing allures music and food lovers

ISLAMABAD, Jan 18 (APP):The Musical Food Festival organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing,
to bring people of both the countries further closer, allured a significant number
of epicureans on its opening ceremony.
Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Masood Khalid highlighting the importance of people
to people connectivity said the activity would serve as a catalyst for further enhancing the
cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Masood also stressed for frequent exchange of delegations of professionals and
youth for creating awareness about culture and economic opportunities for social development
of both sides.
Welcoming the guests he said for stronger bonds food plays an important role and it
was a great opportunity to experience Pakistani food with its trademark aroma and spices.
Ambassador thanked the Chinese government for providing support to this festival.
Prof Huang Jiefu, Member of China People’s Political Consultative Committee,
Deng Xi Jun, China’s Special Envoy on Afghanistan and Ambassador (Retd) Sha Zukang,
President of China-Pakistan Friendship Association were amongst the guests of honour
in the Wednesday’s opening ceremony of the festival.
Two Master chefs from Serena Hotel are the architects of this food extravaganza
while eminent musicians from Pakistan enthralled the audience with Pakistani music.
The inaugural ceremony of the festival was attended by a large number
of Chinese officials, intellectuals, civil society members and Pakistani community. The guests
greatly appreciated the rich Pakistani cuisine and music.
The festival will continue till January 23.
