KARACHI, Sep 09 (APP):A pair of African lions at the Karachi Zoo have given birth to three cubs and the arrival of these three new members is expected to enhance the zoo’s appeal.
All three cubs and their mother are healthy and are currently housed in a special enclosure for their protection. After eight weeks, the cubs will be moved to regular enclosures where visitors can see them up close.
Meanwhile, in a statement on Monday, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab reaffirmed his commitment to further improve the Karachi Zoo, including adding new animals and enhancing recreational facilities.
Recently, modern features like Fun land, and an electric train have been introduced to the zoo, and the historical Mughal Garden has been renovated.
The Mayor stated that efforts are underway to provide recreational facilities for people of all ages so that the entire family can enjoy their visit. Additionally, special facilities will be provided for researchers and students studying animals and birds, allowing them to conduct observations and experiments more effectively.
The Mayor instructed Senior Director of Recreation Iqbal Nawaz to ensure the well-being of the lion cubs, including overseeing their health and diet personally.
