US aid suspension not to deter Pakistan’s resolve to fight terrorism: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (APP):Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor said on
Friday that the suspension of US assistance to Pakistan would impact bilateral security cooperation and regional peace efforts.
“But it will not deter our resolve to fight terrorism,” he said in an interview with Voice of America (VOA).
He said Pakistan never fought for money but for peace, adding Pakistan army had indiscriminately targeted terrorists, including Haqqanis.
We had paid a heavy price both in blood and treasure, he said.
The DG ISPR said there were no organised terrorist sanctuaries inside Pakistan. “Casting doubt on our will is not good to our common objective of moving towards enduring peace and stability,” he added.
He said Pakistan would continue its sincere efforts in the best interest of its people and for peace.
