LODHRAN, Sep 01 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rauf Mahar said on Sunday that distribution centers had been set up regarding Kisan Cards across the district.
Presiding over a review meeting regarding the issuance of Kisan Cards, he said the centers had been established in all three tehsils of the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Syed Waseem Hassan, Principal Agriculture Officer Malik Muhammad Zafar, Deputy Director Public Relations Nauman Masood Khan, representatives from the Bank of Punjab, and Assistant Directors of Agriculture from all three tehsils attended the meeting.
The DC said that steps were being taken for the welfare of farmers under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Agriculture Transformation Program.
The meeting reviewed the progress of approved farmer-friendly projects initiated by the Chief Minister Punjab. It was informed that 22,516 applications for Kisan Cards had been received across the district.
The DC directed the officials to ensure all facilities including sitting, clean drinking water and others for farmers at all Kisan Card Distribution Centers.
The meeting was informed that registration for Kisan Card was in progress rapidly in district Lodhran. Possession of Kisan Card was mandatory for getting benefit from facilities such as solar tube wells, tractors, and concrete watercourses.
Farmers owning agricultural land ranging from 1 acre to 12.5 acres are eligible for registration of Kisan Card.
