Kabbadi most popular sport among masses, Punjab Sports Minister

LAHORE, Jan 03 (APP): Provincial Sports Minister Jahangir Khanzada has declared kabaddi as the most popular sport among the masses and the country earned medals at international level.
He was speaking during the opening of the Technical Kabaddi Course for Coaches that was initiated at the Gymnasium Hall of the Sports Board Punjab here on Wednesday.
Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan, Secretary Pakistan Olympic Association Khalid Mahmood, Secretary Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Rana Sarwar, MD Tourism Ahmer Malik, and Director Sports Punjab Anis Sheikh were also present on the occasion.
Coaches and officials from all over the Pakistan have assembled here to gain the knowledge of
the game on modern lines.
The Minister said that the government is taking measures for the promotion of kabaddi in the country.
“There is no hurdle in Punjab in the sports development as the provincial government has allocated sufficient amount for sports,” said Aamir Jan. He further stated that their duty is to facilitate in sports and the federation on its part develop good players.
“Kabaddi is developing and organisation of kabaddi league is also being worked out,” he added.
Khalid Mahmood on his part praised the efforts of Punjab government for its interest in the development of sports infrastructure and also admired the work being done by sports minister and secretary sports.
Later secretary kabaddi thanked the sports minister and secretary sports in their support for the technical course that will continue till December 8.
