MIRPUR (AJK), Aug 13 (APP):The people of Kashmir are rendering sacrifices for stability, security and safeguarding the ideological and geographical frontiers of Pakistan, Newly-elected office bearers of the Kashmir Press Club (KPC) said on Tuesday.
The emergence of the Allah Almighty-gifted separate Homeland for the Muslims, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,   is the result of the supreme sacrifices of the forefathers under the great struggle and the inspiring dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, they said.
The newly-elected office bearers of the Kashmir Press Club (KPC), Mirpur including President Syed Abid Hussain Shah, General Secretary Raja Sohrab Khan and others stated this while addressing a special ceremony hosted in the  club   to mark the 78th Independence Day’s celebrations of Pakistan falling on  Wednesday.
Apart from a large number of journalists, city elite from various schools of thought came to congratulate the newly elected officials of the press club. A large number of personalities belonging to the civil society also attended the ceremony followed by lunch to mark the celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Earlier, a special prayer was offered for the upholding of the ranks of the great martyrs of the valiant armed forces of Pakistan who sacrificed their lives for the stability and security of Pakistan, the Pakistan movement besides the defense of the motherland.
 Jashan Azadi cooked food was also distributed among the participants besides the general visitors.
Speakers including President  Syed Abid Hussain Shah, Secretary  General Raja Sohrab Ahmed Khan and others said that the member journalists of Kashmir Press Club Mirpur had always played their full and positive role in the success of the Kashmir Freedom Movement besides the stability, security and protection of Pakistan, the ultimate destination in all respects.
“The newly elected leadership of the club is fully aware of its responsibilities and will always strive for unity and consensus among journalists and solutions to their long-standing problems,” they added.
