LODHRAN, Aug 13 (APP):Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Rauf Mahr, said that the district administration was fully prepared to deal with urban flooding and is utilizing all available resources to handle any emergency-like situation.
DC expressed these views during inspection of the central sewerage disposal system at Basti Hassan Wala. Administrator Municipal Committee Lodhran, Muhammad Asad Ali, Assistant Commissioner Lodhran, Atiqullah, and other municipal officers were also present.
He directed all municipal committees across the district to remain high alert in view of the recent spell of rain.
He directed municipal officers to take practical measures for the drainage of rainwater in the city. Abdul Rauf further ordered strict monitoring of the sewerage system and other related matters to ensure that citizens do not face any difficulties.
He mentioned that the performance of the machinery used for drainage and others was being monitored on an hourly basis.
He directed officials to ensure the drainage of water from low-lying areas. Deputy Commissioner urged the public to take necessary precautions during the current spell of rain and directed municipal authorities to operate all disposal stations at full capacity in the field.
He directed municipal officers to ensure the immediate drainage of accumulated rainwater in the low-lying areas and asked the Assistant Commissioners of the respective tehsils to personally monitor the drainage operations.
He warned that any negligence in drainage work would not be tolerated. Mr Abdul Rauf also directed the municipal officers and staff to continue the drainage operation until the complete removal of rainwater and spend maximum time in the field. He emphasized the need for solid measures to improve the sanitation and drainage system to provide maximum relief to the public.
