RAWALPINDI, Aug 09 (APP): On the instructions of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt visited Murree to review the Himat Card registration process, on Friday.
The minister visited Trait, Sambli Tajal and Ghora Galli where he inquired about the registration of Himat Card from the disabled persons
Talking on the occasion, Sohail Shaukat said that CM Maryam Nawaz was the voice of the oppressed class.
“According to the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister, the process of Himat card registration has spread to the Union Council level” he said adding that the government would take additional steps for the welfare of special persons in accordance with the vision of the chief minister.
The provincial minister said that 400,00 disabled persons, 150000 were those who cannot write.
“Himat card is going to be launched for the welfare of people with disabilities” he said.
Sohail informed that monthly financial assistance of 10,500 rupees would be available to persons with disabilities through Himat card, after the completion of the record compiling. He told that he was visiting various Himat card registration points of Punjab in order to maintain the standard of transparency.
Sohail informed that the registration for Himat Card registration can be done during office hours at Social Welfare Department offices, and also through helpline 1312.
“People are not only satisfied with the transparency of himat card registration, but are actively participating in the registration process”, he concluded.
Director Social Welfare Rawalpindi Rana Shahid and other officers also accompanied him.
