LAHORE, Aug 08 (APP):Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, Hina Pervez Butt, visited the office of Prosecutor General Punjab on Thursday to extend unwavering support in the case of Zainab Jameel.
As a former model and actress, Jameel’s case has drawn significant attention.
During the meeting, Hina Pervez Butt reaffirmed Punjab’s strict zero-tolerance policy on matters concerning the safety and dignity of women and girls. This policy aligns with the vision of the Chief Minister, who has been a staunch advocate for the rights and protection of women across the province.
“The situation of Zainab Jameel is a tragic reminder of the challenges that women in our society continue to face,” said Hina. “We stand resolutely with Zainab and all women who are victims of such heinous acts. The Punjab Women Protection Authority is dedicated to ensuring that justice is served and that no stone is left unturned in holding perpetrators accountable.”
She also emphasized the necessity of collaboration between various governmental bodies, law enforcement agencies, and civil society to effectively combat honor-based violence and safeguard the rights of women and girls in Punjab. She assured that the Authority is committed to providing all necessary resources and support to ensure the swift and fair prosecution of those responsible for such crimes.
