LAHORE, Aug 07 (APP):Eight people were killed and 1,276 others injured in 1,218 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many as 519 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 757 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 717 drivers, 43 underage drivers, 153 pedestrians and 414 passengers were among the victims of road crashes. The statistics show that 296 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 309 people, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 92 accidents and 95 victims, and at third Gujranwala with 75 accidents and 70 victims.
According to the data, 1,069 motorbikes, 81 auto-rickshaws, 113 motorcars, 31 vans, 18 passenger buses, 32 truck and 91 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in road accidents.
