LAHORE, Aug 02 (APP):Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Friday attended the funeral prayer in absentia of Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh at Masjid Shuhada here.
People from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers of the assassinated Palestinian leader.
According to a handout by the Governor’ House media cell, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan spoke to the media men and said the great Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh was brutally martyred, adding that it is highly condemnable.
The Governor Punjab said that all the Islamic countries need to unite, adding that in the form of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Allah had given Pakistan a leader who united the Islamic world.
‘He, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, invited the heads of Islamic countries to Pakistan and tried to form an Islamic bloc, but he was separated from us under a conspiracy,’ Sardar Saleem Haider said.
The Governor Punjab said had Zulfikar Ali Bhutto been alive today, the Islamic world would have been different.
Tributes were paid to the services of Shaheed Ismail Haniyeh in the freedom struggle of the Palestinian people and a special prayer was offered for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the Palestinian Muslims.
