LAHORE, Aug 02 (APP):Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has initiated another commendable measure to enhance the delivery of justice and policing services, as well as promote community policing.
Following Dr. Usman Anwar’s directives, RPOs, DPOs, and other senior police officers visited local mosques after Friday prayers. The senior officers listened to citizens’ issues, issued directives for their resolution, and informed the public about the services and facilities being provided by the police.
The IG Punjab said that the role and importance of mosques in societal reform, development, and progress cannot be denied. He emphasized that, in line with the spirit and teachings of Islam, mosques will be established as centers for community engagement. He instructed that senior officers should use mosques to listen to citizens’ issues at their doorstep and ensure timely resolution.
The IG Punjab also advised police officers to inform citizens about the modern services and facilities provided by the police so they can easily avail these services when needed. He reaffirmed that efforts are being made to further strengthen the liaison, cooperation, and trust between the police and the community. Every possible measure will continue to be taken to maintain peace, promote societal reform, and ensure justice for citizens, he added.
