LAHORE, Aug 01 (APP):Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed the police force to actively participate in relief activities across all districts of the province in light of the monsoon rains.
He said that considering the rainfall in various regions of Punjab, including Lahore, police officers and personnel should remain alert. He emphasized that police officers and staff should perform their duties with increased vigilance in the rain-affected areas, and supervisory officers should personally monitor rescue and relief operations in those regions.
The IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police is in constant contact with PDMA, district administration, and rescue organizations regarding rescue and relief activities. Details of damage caused by the rain are also being collected from the control rooms of the Punjab Police.
He emphasized that police officers and personnel should assist in water drainage on rain-affected roads in Lahore and other areas in collaboration with WASA and other organizations.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that efforts are being made to provide full support from relevant departments in rescuing citizens affected by the rain.
In view of the potential for more rain, police officers and personnel should remain highly alert and respond promptly to any emergency situation, he added.
