BAHAWALPUR, Jul 29 (APP):Ginger, lemon and several other vegetables and fruits have gone out of reach of common people in Bahawalpur even ginger was sold out at Rs 800 per kilogram and lemon at Rs 600 per kg in the city on Monday.
APP learnt that no decrease in prices of vegetables and fruits could be made in Bahawalpur region for last several days afte their rates went higher after Eid-Ul-Azha. Ginger which is used in around every dish at kitchen was available at Rs 400 to 500 before Eid-Ul-Azha, now its price has got record increase by Rs 300.
Lemon was available at Rs 200 per kg at several points in the city before Eid-Ul-Azha but today (Monday), it was sold out at Rs 600 per kilogram in local markets.
Pumpkin was sold out at Rs 300 to 350 per kg, tomato at Rs 200 per kg, shimla pepper at Rs 300 per kg, cauliflower at Rs 200 per kg, cabbage at Rs 240 per kg, lady finger at Rs 200 to 240 per kg, brinjal at Rs 200 per kg, sponge gourd at Rs 200, old potato at Rs 100 per kg, new potato at Rs 160 per kg, onion at Rs 100 per kg and cucumber at Rs 80 per kg here on Monday.
