LAHORE, Jul 27 (APP):The Punjab Police arrested more than 72,000 proclaimed offenders (POs) of A and B categories this year.
A spokesperson said the POs were arrested from across Punjab. He said over 39,000 judicial fugitives were also arrested. Besides POs, the police arrested 18,791 target offenders (habitual criminals) during the ongoing operations.
He said 60 proclaimed offenders were arrested from foreign countries and extradited back to Pakistan. During the current year, 8,701 criminals belonging to 3,460 gangs were arrested across the province and stolen property worth Rs. 2,436 million was recovered from the gangs.
IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police teams for their good performance and directed them to perform their duties more diligently.
