LAHORE, Jul 26 (APP):Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Friday inaugurated the Mother & Child Healthcare Centre, free immunisation programme, mobile medical unit, van service for delivery of medicines and reception equipped with modern facilities at health centre.
In this regard a ceremony was held in which PU Chief Medical Officer Dr Muhammad Akram, Head Medicine Purchase Committee Health Centre Prof Dr Zeeshan Danish, deans, HoDs, faculty members, administrative officers and employees were present.
Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood said that PU teachers, employees and students would benefit from the launch of health facilties package. He said that the community of new campus had been provided with emergency facilities at their doorstep even in the evening hours. He said that the mobile medical unit/van was a mobile mini hospital, which would had all the first aid facilities. The VC said that the health centre ambulance facility would also be available to transfer the patients to the hospital. He said that arrangements had been made to deliver medicines to teachers and employees at their respective addresses through delivery vans. Dr Khalid Mahmood said that in collaboration with the Punjab Health Department, immunisation and valuable vaccines for children had also been arranged, which would be available free-of-cost at the Mother & Child Centre added that the system of online appointment with the doctor, re-writing of prescriptions by phone would also begin soon. The VC said that the availability of medicines and the supply was being ensured 100 per cent. He praised the chief medical officer (CMO) and their team for the excellent work. The CMO said that these were historic moments regarding the health facilities in PU, for which the credit goes to the VC.
PU VC Dr Khalid said that the completion of machinery and human resources equipped with modern facilities in PU Health Centre would also be done soon.
