NAWABSHAH, Jul 24 (APP):The Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shahryar Gull Memon presided over a meeting regarding tree plantation drive in the district.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that a grand tree plantation drive would be started on 14th August.
He urged all departments and social welfare organizations to plant a maximum number of saplings in their offices, streets, homes and public places and also ensure special care of plants so that such plants could benefit people.
He aid that due to climate change and less tree plantation the temperature was increasing day by day which was highly alarming for humans and animals however tree plantation was the only solution to protect from heat.
Mayor Nawabshah Qazi Muhammad Rasheed Bhatti said that Municipal corporation will extend every possible cooperation for tree plantation and added it would be carried out with the help of town chairmen.
Divisional forest officer Mushtaq Ahmed Zardari said that various types of saplings were available in the forest department and out of which one lac saplings were completely ready which will be provided free of cost to plant in Government institutions , roads and canals.
Representatives of social welfare organization assured to contribute in tree plantation drive on 14th August.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Nawab Sumer leghari, Director Social Welfare Ghulam Muhammad Sahto, District Education officer Muhammad Salem Bhatti, Additional Director Social welfare Muhammad Sabir Qureshi, District Manager SAFWCO Abdul Samad Phulpoto, Muhammad Amin keeriyo of Sindhica and representatives of other Social welfare organizations were also present on the occasion.
