MULTAN, Jul 24 (APP): A delegation from the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) South Punjab met with Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani here on Wednesday.
The delegation included WCCI President Ms. Mehnaz A. Sheikh and former President Ms. Masooma Sabtain. Additional Secretary Mohammad Farooq Dogar was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Rabbani praised the Women’s Chamber of Commerce for its significant role in promoting the cottage industry, which is expected to boost demand for local products and expand the network of skilled women entrepreneurs.
He emphasized the importance of providing better compensation to these entrepreneurs, particularly those in rural areas, to foster progress and prosperity.
Additionally, Rabbani highlighted the need for value addition in the cottage industry and assured that efforts would be made to secure a dedicated building for the Women Chambers of Commerce.
Ms. Mehnaz A. Sheikh, President WCCI South Punjab, underscored the urgent need for a building for the Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
She said that once a suitable building is provided, a display center would be established to showcase products created by skilled women, thereby enhancing their visibility and market reach.
