PESHAWAR, Jul 23 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that vandalism of May 9, 2023 is unpardonable crime and sparing those involved in it could trigger big tragedy in future.
He was talking to media during his visit to Peshawar Press Club (PPC) wherein he had come to express condolence with senior journalist, Bakhtzada Yousafzai over the sad demise of his mother on Tuesday.
The KP Governor said that if those involved in May 09 are spared then those involved in more serious tragedies will also seek forgiveness. Therefore, he called for an immediate action against those involved in the May 09 incidents and awarding them exemplary punishment.
He said that soon after taking oath as Governor, he had announced contesting the case of the province and not spreading hatred between the province with pledge that he will never turn Governor’s House into a den of conspiracies against the Chief Minister’s House and rather playing the role of bridge between the provincial and federal government. But, they might have considered that I had exhibited weakness.
The Governor said that he had talked in the interest of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and law and order in it. He said that the PTI leadership may had considered him a “Youthia” a notion used for the supporters of their party or a member of the provincial or National Assembly to hear their directives silently. He said that during the last period of over ten years, the PTI leadership has done nothing for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Faisal Karim Kundi said that they also have to carry on their politics and want to the promotion of investment and revived sports activities in its playgrounds.
The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also critical of nominal allocation for higher education in the province and asked the provincial government to compete with other provinces while allocating higher amount for sector.
He said that Punjab has allocated a fund of Rs 5 to 6 billion while Sindh has taken lead by allocating the highest amount of Rs. 25 billion for higher education, saying the KP government should have outclassed its counterparts by allocation more than other provinces.
Similarly, he said that the performance of the KP government in health sector is also far behind other provinces and particularly Sindh.
He asked the media to check the data of health sector to know that how many patients from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are going to Sindh for medical treatment and how many people from Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan are coming here for the purpose.
Earlier, the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi expressed condolence with the senior journalist, Bakhtzada Yousafzai over the sad demise of her mother and offered fateha for the eternal peace of her departed soul.
