HYDERABAD, Jul 23 (APP):The Mayor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) Kashif Ali Shoro visited the New Filtration Plant on Jamshoro road here on Tuesday to check proper filtration of water following reports about Naegleria virus related death in Hyderabad.
The mayor’s spokesman informed that Shoro paid a surprise visit to the plant, which was the largest filtration facility of Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Board Corporation (HW&SBC), to review the process.
During the visit the mayor was briefed by Shewan Kumar, an Executive Engineer of the corporation who is heading a 6-member committee tasked to ensure thorough filtration of water in the wake of Naegleria Fowleri case.
The spokesman told that the Mayor expressed satisfaction over the heightened efforts being taken to adequately filter water.
He was accompanied by members of HW&SWB’s board Aftab Khanzada, consultant Saleemuddin and the focal person Noor Muhammad Talpur.
