CPO chairs meeting to enhance law and order in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Jul 23 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani chaired a meeting at the Police Lines Headquarters here Tuesday to review crime situation. Key decisions were made in the meeting to enhance law and order in Rawalpindi.
The meeting was attended by top police officials including SSPs, CTO, SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and heads of other departments.
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani emphasized the urgency in solving cases such as robbery and murder, stressing the timely arrest of suspects while giving a timeline regarding the acquisition of evidence. It should be ensured that negligence and recklessness are intolerable, 1787. The CPO reiterated the need for a swift response to emergency calls and the timely registration of FIRs.
He underscored a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence and inefficiency, urging swift legal action on complaints received through the Complaint Management System. There has been a significant reduction in heinous crimes, special focus should be placed on street crime and crime hotspots, the CPO instructed the police to intensify patrolling duty. The police chief also mandated a crackdown on drug peddlers to eliminate the drug menace from society He also highlighted the need for prompt issuance of challans and arrests of traffic offenders to curb prevent of vehicle and motorcycle theft. Strict action must be taken against organized and dynamic gangs, he added.
Moreover, CPO Khalid Hamdani commended officers and Jawan to perform diligent duty during Muharram. He reaffirmed the commitment of Rawalpindi Police to prioritize the safety and security of citizens, stating it as their foremost duty.
The CPO also stressed on improving investigation quality, ensuring timely submission of challans, and thorough follow-up on cases to secure convictions. He urged supervisory officers to rectify any shortcomings in ongoing investigations and personally oversee  crime scenes for effective outcomes.
