QUETTA, Jul 22 (APP):Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandukhail on Monday said that establishing a balance between family formation and available resources was the most important need of the hour.
He said that these meaningful statements and investigations regarding family planning and birth control should not be limited to the stage or papers but concrete steps would also be taken to make them fruitful.
He expressed these views while addressing at a seminar organized by the Department of Population Welfare and UNFPA in the provincial capital Quetta on the occasion of World Population Day.
He said we recognize the achievements of the government in dealing with overpopulation and ensuring the implementation of family planning, but there are still many challenges in front of us.
Governor Mandukhail appreciated the efforts of all the guests, experts and organizers for organizing the successful seminar.
The seminar regarding World Population Day was attended by Education Minister Raheela Durrani, Advisor to Chief Minister Nasimur Rehman and others.
Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Population Welfare Hadiya Nawaz while addressing the participants said that inflation, unemployment, insecurity, lack of health and education facilities, traffic, pollution were the cause of all the problems in the population, there was a rampant increase.
Minister for Education Raheela Durrani said there was no need for statistics to measure class differences in the country, we could easily see it around us saying that observing this required sensitivity and compassion.
We can see its reflection in the quality of life of countless people in Pakistan, where a large part of the population is forced to live below the poverty line, she said.
Later, Governor Balochistan distributed commemorative shields among the participants and organizers and thanked the civil society and media.
