QUETTA, Jul 16 (APP):Commissioner Quetta Hamza Shafqaat said that foolproof security arrangements had been made for the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
Talking to media here Tuesday, he said five thousand police, FC and Levies personnel have been deployed for the security at Ashura procession. The procession will be monitored from the air and the Pakistan Army will be on standby, he said.
There are security threats during Muharram, he said adding that stringent security measures have been taken to foil any such bid. He noted that checkpoints had been set up at the city’s entry and exit points.
The Commissioner said thirty suspects have been arrested, who are being investigated. Cleanliness arrangements are being made on the routes of the Ashura procession, he maintained.
