WSSC completes cleanliness work for 7th Muharram processions

Dera Ismail Khan , Jul 13 (APP):Water and Sanitation Services Company D I Khan (WSSC) has completed its cleanliness operation by removing all waste materials on the routes of the 7th Muharram procession besides finalising all the arrangements for the Ashura procession.
While talking to APP, the official of WSSC said that on the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WSSC and Deputy Commissioner  DIKhan Mansoor Arshad, the  company is utilizing all resources to provide extraordinary cleanliness arrangements for the citizens of D I Khan during the Muharram.
Under the special cleanliness programme, all Imambargahs, procession routes and their vicinity were being cleaned besides the waste containers were also being emptied.
The construction material or debris was also being removed from the routes of the procession and its adjacent areas, the official told.
Over 300  staff members and all necessary machinery are deployed in three shifts for this special cleaning operation.
WSSC operation teams are engaged in cleaning procession routes in eight Union Councils of the city including UC 1,UC 2, UC 3, UC 4, UC 5, Dera Dehat 1,Dera Dehat 2 and Union Council Dewala. In these eight UCs cleaning of 27 Imam Bargahs and surroundings, various streets and mourning processions routes have been cleaned while cleaning of the main routes is in progress and cleanliness work will continue until the conclusion of Ashura’s day processions.
The Company’s senior officials also held meetings with the custodians of different Imambargahs from time to time, while control rooms has also been set up at WSSC office that would look after the entire operation. The control room is actively monitoring sanitation arrangements and ensuring prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints, the official added.
