Heavy rain lowers temperature in Faisalabad
FAISALABAD, Jul 12 (APP):A heavy downpour lashed the city on Friday which turned the weather pleasant.
The rain with thunderstorms started around 10a.m. and continued till 4p.m with gaps. The temperature and humidity which was high on Thursday dropped after rain.
The main road and other low-lying areas filled with rain water which struck the people at their homes.
According to data provided by Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) here on Friday evening, a maximum rain was 87mm was recorded in Ghulam Muhammad Area, 86mm in Madina Town area, 87 in Dogar Basti, 76 in Gulistan Colony and 71 in Allama Iqbal Colony.
WASA Managing Director Amir Aziz has said that all field teams are active at their points to drainage of rain water especially in low lying areas.
He said that 78 dewatering sets and sucker machines were operational in the city and rainwater was being drained out from all main crossings and roads.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh visited various parts of the including Samundri Road, Susan Road, Eidgah Road, Civil Lines and underpasses and viewed the emergency flood relief camps set up by WASA.
