Dengue watch, zero patient in Rawalpindi hospitals

RAWALPINDI, Jul 11 (APP):So far 3041 dengue suspects were reported in 2024, including 25 confirmed dengue patients in allied hospitals of District Rawalpindi. After treatment and complete recovery, all 25 were discharged from the hospitals and currently there is no single dengue patient admitted in any hospital.
According to Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Focal person anti dengue campaign informed that majority dengue patients; 18 were reported from Rawalpindi followed by 3 patients each from Chakwal and Islamabad. 1 patient diagnosed with dengue fever was reported to have a travel history from abroad.
He further informed that patients reported and admitted in various hospitals were also including those travelled from other cities as well. On 10th July,16 more suspect patients were brought to hospitals out of which 2 were admitted for treatment but yet not confirmed as dengue patients, he added.
To miscellaneous questions, Dr. Sajjad said that continuous monitoring of the dengue situation was underway and all hospitals were directed for taking special measures in this regard. According to information shared by the anti dengue cell, 108 beds capacity was presently available with 60 beds in Rawalpindi, 8 each in Kalar Syedan and Kahuta, 7 each in Gujarkhan and Kotli Satian and 6 beds each in Murree, Taxila and Wahgardens hospitals. Rawalpindi’s Holly Family Hospital has the capacity of 40 beds,  whereas 10 beds are available in Benazir Bhutto Hospital and DHQ hospital.
He informed that no death due to dengue has yet been reported nor any critical dengue patient was present in hospitals.
